Segment Comparison

Multi-Effort Comparison

Select any Strava segment or define a custom GPS bounding box to extract all matching efforts from the activity history. Up to six efforts can be displayed simultaneously on synchronized time-axis charts. Each effort is color-coded and labeled with date and elapsed time. Instantly see whether this year's climb was faster, whether watt output was higher, whether heart rate was lower for the same speed — answering the core question every competitive cyclist asks: am I getting stronger?

Key Performance Indicators

For each extracted effort the comparison panel shows average and normalized watt output, average heart rate and peak heart rate, average cadence and pedaling smoothness, speed and elapsed time, Intensity Factor IF, and estimated segment TSS. Side-by-side numerical summaries complement the graphical overlays, giving both visual pattern recognition and precise statistical comparison in a single view.

Pacing Analysis

Many riders produce the same average watts across attempts but achieve different times due to pacing strategy differences. The comparison tool highlights whether a faster attempt came from a stronger start, a more consistent mid-segment effort, or a stronger finish kick. Identifying optimal pacing patterns on familiar climbs and time-trial courses is one of the highest-leverage improvements available without any additional fitness — pure tactical knowledge from data.

Long-Term Progress Tracking

Plot any segment's best effort per month or per season to visualize performance trends over years of riding history. Overlay CTL fitness curve onto the segment trend to confirm that FTP improvements translate into actual segment improvements. Identify which seasons produced the most growth, and what training characteristics preceded those breakthroughs. Evidence-based reflection on long-term athletic development, grounded in real effort history rather than estimates.
